It all started with forty acres, a family home, and a dream. In 1972, Lowell and Phyllis Schaper planted roots—literally and figuratively—in Minnetrista. Just a few years later, they dug into the land and planted 600 apple trees, giving rise to Minnetonka Orchards, Minnesota’s very first apple orchard. From famous apple donuts and wagon rides to weddings and wide-eyed kids in pumpkin patches, the orchard quickly became a seasonal staple for families across the Twin Cities.

Fast forward 45 years, and the legacy was lovingly passed on to the Weigel family—Esther and Frank—who saw not just what the orchard had been, but everything it could become. Today, under their care, the land is buzzing with new energy: still proudly family-run, still deeply rooted in tradition, but now growing in fresh, exciting directions.

Reimagined as Everly Farms, the orchard has expanded into a full-blown destination—offering fall festivities, farm-fresh fun, special events, and now, a working vineyard and winery. It's a place where donuts are made with love, cider is poured with a smile, and every corner of the farm invites you to slow down and stay a while.
At its heart, Everly Farms is about family—ours and yours. We're here to celebrate the land, the seasons, and the simple joys that grow when you nurture something over time. Whether you’re apple-picking, sipping a glass of wine at The Table, dancing under string lights at a wedding, or watching your kid take their first hayride—this place is meant to be shared.
